The dog days of summer are finally here! This year, they seem to be bringing with them “post” pandemic freedom. Things seem to be going back to somewhat of integrated normalcy of pre-and post-pandemic living. More people are traveling, attending public events, and going to the beach and barbeques.

The long days, warm weather, and lifted covid restrictions are filling us up with energy and enthusiasm. Let’s sink into summer by spending as much time as we can outdoors soaking up that natural vitamin D and all the sacred moments summer has in store. Below, I share with you four ways you can do just that.

  1. Eat al fresco. Make a heart-healthy meal and bring your plate outside to enjoy the sun’s last rays as it paints the sky with its colors before it sets.
  2. Be kind to your skin. Make sure to wear sunscreen and avoid heavy make-up as much as you can. Let your skin breathe in warmer weather.
  3. Busy days and hot weather make for tired and heavy legs. Massage them before bed to bed to boost circulation with these DIY aromatherapy recipes found here.
  4. Make nice cream. Blend together frozen bananas and fresh berries from your local farmer’s market for a low, sugar, dairy-free treat..

What are some of your favorite ways to sink in and enjoy summer?
